Civil, Litigation, & Business Attorney

Nate Cade is the owner and managing partner of Cade Law Group LLC, which he started on March 1, 2013. Prior to forming his own law firm, Nate was a partner and the general counsel in a large multi-office law firm based in Milwaukee, and previously a partner for 15 years at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, one of the largest firms in Milwaukee. Nate's practice focuses on all aspects of civil and appellate litigation, with an emphasis on products liability and complex commercial and business disputes. Nate also handles trusts and estate matters and specific criminal matters. In addition to his products liability and commercial litigation work, Nate also represents Wisconsin lawyers charged with ethics and professional misconduct violations by the Office of Lawyer Regulation which is the Wisconsin Supreme Court governing body with responsibility for regulating and disciplining lawyers in the state. He also serves as an expert witness for ethics and legal malpractice matters. Nate previously served on the ABA’s Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, which is tasked with writing ethics opinions and suggesting changes to the ABA’s Model Rules of Professional Responsibility. In addition, Nate previously served on the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Standing Committee on Professional Ethics for seven years, including three years as chair. Nate also served as a member of the Wisconsin Supreme Court Ethics 2000 Commission, which proposed revisions to the State’s Rules of Professional Conduct in July 2004. Nate served as the interim Wisconsin State Delegate in the ABA House of Delegates where he chaired the Technology Committee and served on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Wisconsin. Nate is an active member of the ABA’s Litigation Section, having served previously as a Division Director, and previously chaired the Section’s Products Liability Committee. Nate has conducted and had involvement in dozens of trials, mediations and arbitrations throughout Wisconsin and the United States. He lectures extensively on ethics and also has done so on products liability, environmental law, and construction insurance law. Nate is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a 1996 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Law. Nate is a fourth generation lawyer, so he comes by his love of the law honestly. When not practicing law, Nate is usually spending time with family and rooting for Michigan football.
