Family Law and Domestic Relations
Regina F. Amick was raised in Maryland and has been licensed to practice law in Maryland since 2003 and in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2005. Ms. Amick has focused her practice solely on domestic relations matters including divorce, separation agreements, child custody, child support, spousal support, division of property and retirement. She has extensive experience handling complex business and property divisions, utilizing experts in business valuations and property valuations. Living in Hampton Roads, Ms. Amick is well versed in military divorces and the challenges faced in military custody and relocation matters. Having served as the moderating faculty member of the seminar, “Battle of the Same Sexes,” she has a thorough working knowledge of the legal issues impacting same-sex marriages with children. Ms. Amick currently serves on the Virginia Bar Association Domestic Relations Section Executive Council as well as the Virginia Bar Association Commission on the Needs of Children. She is active in her local bar associations and serves as co-chair to the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee, and is a member of the Chesapeake Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee. Ms. Amick participates in the Virginia Beach Bar Association C.L.A.S.S. Program, which provides pro bono representation to assist victims of domestic violence obtain Protective Orders. Ms. Amick is also a member of the I’Anson-Hoffman American Inn of Court as a master. After her admission to the Maryland State Bar in 2003, Ms. Amick served as a law clerk to the Honorable Karen A. Murphy Jensen of the Circuit Court for Caroline County, Maryland. Ms. Amick started her career on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives. Regina is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law.
